Dawn Lee Jaggery
Jaggery is a natural sweetener that is made from sugarcane. It is a concentrated product without separation of the molasses and crystals. It is an extremely healthy alternative to white, chemically treated, refined sugar.
Rich brown or golden in color, jaggery tastes like rich molasses and caramel toffee. It is used in households as a sweetener and a flavoring agent. It has higher fiber and mineral content.
It is also known as unrefined sugar and thus is a healthier and better version of white sugar.
Dawn Lee’s Specialty-
Dawn Lee’s Jaggery contains more nutrients as it has molasses and also contains more than 70% sucrose.
It is unrefined and non-distilled, and no chemicals are used in making it thus all the nutrients like magnesium, iron, calcium, and phosphorus are retained.
- The light-colored jaggery is said to have adulterant-baking soda which is used to improve its color.
- Calcium carbonate or Lime is added to improve color, as well as to add weight since limeis far cheaper than jaggery.
